AUSTRALIA
The Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron with a history of over 140 years, is one of the oldest yacht clubs in Victoria located on the waterfront at St Kilda with the Melbourne’s newest marina. The Squadron was the control centre for the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games yachting events.
AUSTRALIA
The Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron was ‘born’ in 1885 when a group of gentlemen interested in water sports formed the Brisbane Sailing Club. Sailing quickly became the prominent sport of the new entity and within a few years competition with the sailors of Sydney had commenced with the inaugural inter-colonial sailing race in 22 Footers.
BAHAMAS
Founded in 1931, the Nassau Yacht Club is located just West of downtown Nassau, on East Bay Street, overlooking picturesque Montague Bay.
BELGIUM
The Bruxelles Royal Yacht Club, founded in 1906, located in the heart of Brussels close to the Royal Château of Laeken is the largest yachting club in French-speaking Belgium endowed with new ultra-modern premises for the sailing school. The clubhouse, with a quality restaurant, faces the canal linking Brussels to the sea.
BERMUDA
The Royal Bermuda Yacht Club is one of the oldest Royal Clubs in the world and holds some of the richest maritime history of the Atlantic. RBYC was established on November 1, 1844 by a party of thirty gentlemen, consisting of British Army officers and local Bermudian Sailors who realized there was a need for a club.
BRAZIL
Iate Clube de Santos, founded in 1947, has facilities in São Paulo, Guaruja, Ilhabela, Paraty and Angra dos Reis with the swimming pool, tennis and multi-discipline courts, a fully-equipped gym and several restaurants.

The club occupies prime forshore at the head of the Botafogo Bay.
Its swimming pool and social headquarters are world famous. Rio hosted the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
DENMARK
The Royal Danish Yacht Club (RDYC) was founded on 3 July 1866 after a regatta in Nyborg (Funen), and was originally named the Danish Association for Pleasure Sailing (Dansk Forening for Lystsejlads). Ever since then, the Club has worked to promote sailing in Denmark and to support its members in their favourite sport.

Enthusiasts who share the same approach to the sea. Combining tradition and modernity, initiative and innovation, this approach carries the traditional values of the sailor: competence, responsibility, respect, solidarity, humility, know-how, including in racing or regatta. It was the approach of Virginie Hériot, Jean-Baptiste Charcot and Eric Tabarly who were, along with others, prominent members. This is always the approach that the Yacht Club de France and its allied clubs strive to promote to all those who practice boating in its broadest sense: sailing as well as motoring, on board traditional boats as well as flagships of technology that today fly on the water. The Yacht Club de France has entered the 21st century with the ambition displayed by its founders almost one hundred and fifty years ago: to share convictions and transmit values. Its members, with their own sensibility, have never ceased to promote principles and customs without respect for the sea, an exceptional space of freedom.
FRANCE
The Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez located in the Port de Saint-Tropez is the organiser of the annual regatta Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez.
GERMANY
Norddeutscher Regatta Verein is one of the oldest and with currently about 2,000 members also one of the largest sailing clubs in Germany. Founded in 1868 the club is committed to regatta sailing and especially supports young people in their sailing ambitions.
GREECE
The Yacht Club of Greece, founded in 1933, lies in Piraeus Peninsula in the historical military Port of Ancient Athens called MOUNICHIA with the main club house positioned on the top of a hill with a unique view of the Phaleron Bay, the Saronic Gulf and the city of Athens. The Clubhouse has lounges, restaurants, bars and reception rooms.
HONG KONG
The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club is one of the oldest sports clubs in Hong Kong. The Club is a hive of activity year-round and has three Clubhouses: Kellett Island in Causeway Bay is the Club’s principal base and acts as parent site to the two smaller branches of the Club at Middle Island in Repulse Bay and Shelter Cove near Sai Kung.
IRELAND
Sometime in the early 1600s, the idea of sailing for private pleasure started to take root in the Netherlands. Later that century, during the Cromwellian years, King Charles II of England was in exile in the Netherlands and while there he became aware of this new and exciting pastime.
ITALY
The Yacht Club Costa Smeralda was founded in 1967. The completely renovated Clubhouse, considered to be one of the most beautifully functional structures of its kind in existence. It covers 5,800 m2 and hosts a panoramic pool terrace, a restaurant, Members’ lounge, wellness centre, bar, as well as 24 suites.
ITALY
Yacht Club Italiano, founded in Genoa in 1879, is the oldest sailing club in Italy and one of the oldest in the Mediterranean, with a membership base of about 1100.
The club began its life as Regio (“Royal”) Yacht Club Italiano through the initiative of Vittorio Augusto Vecchi (“Jack La Bolina”) and his enthusiastic sailing fellows, and enjoyed the support of His Majesty King Umberto I.
ITALY
The Yacht Club Porto Rotondo was founded in 1985 by a group of people who were passionate about the sea and about Porto Rotondo and, right from its first year of operation, has been located in the beautiful larch-wood building created by the Venetian architect Malgaretto.
MEXICO
Club de Yates de Acapulco, founded in 1955 and located in Acapulco, Mexico. The club served as host of the sailing events for the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City. Its facilities operate year round and include an excellent restaurant, bar, picnic areas, swimming pool, sauna and tennis court.
MONACO
The Yacht Club de Monaco, founded in 1953 by Prince Rainier and presided over by H.S.H. Prince Sovereign Albert II since 1984. The new impressive clubhouse was opened in 2014.
MONTENEGRO
The Club is structured into distinct squadrons for sailing, motor yachting and rowing each with its own Captain to drive its competitive and informal leisure activity programme, allowing like-minded individuals, couples, families and friends to enjoy a rich mixture of entertainment afloat and ashore through a flexibly system of membership.
NETHERLANDS
The “Koninklijke Roei- en Zeilvereeniging ‘De Maas’” (Royal Maas Yacht Club) was established in 1851 and therewith it is one of oldest
sailing clubs of the Netherlands. The “Vereeniging” possesses a spectacular clubhouse near the river ‘Nieuwe Maas’, from which river
she derives her name.
The Club can take pride in many successes in sailing sport competitions, among Olympic sailing matches. An superb performance was
achieved by honorary member, Conny van Rietschoten (1926 – 2013), who, with his sailing yacht Flyer I and in succession with Flyer II,
won the Whitbread Round the World Race twice.
The famous race which is presently called the Volvo Ocean Race.
NORWAY
The Kongelig Norsk Seilforening, or Royal Norwegian Yacht Club, was established in Oslo 1883.The club has more than 4,000 members, mainly located in the Oslo area, and is by far the largest yacht club in Norway.
PERU
Situated in the La Punta District in Lima 1.5 km south of the entrance to the port of Callao, the Yacht Club Peruano offers a pleasant Environments for various meetings and hosts a ship yard of about 2’000 sqm. The club restaurant with space over two levels reaches into the sea – dominated by the view of the bay and can host up to of 300 guests.
PORTUGAL
The Clube Naval de Cascais, founded in 1938, from its very beginning took on a vital role in the development of nautical sports in Portugal, with a special emphasis on sailing. In 2007 the Club established the Centre for High Performance Sailing which permits the club to receive and support any major sailing competition.
RUSSIA
The Saint Petersburg Yacht Club aims to maintain the ideals of nautical ethics on land and sea and to develop nautical sports, mainly sailing. The philosophy of the yacht club is to cherish the heritage of the nautical culture and the naval history of Russia and the whole world, as well as to pass them on to the next generations.
SWEDEN
Founded in 1830 the KSSS is one of the oldest and most popular Clubs in Sweden. Located in Saltsjöbaden, close to Stockholm, the club offers great facilities for its 5000 active members and their guests.
UNITED KINGDOM
Founded in 1775, the Club, based in centre of London, is the oldest continuously operating yacht club in the world and the oldest royal yacht club. It has two bars, reading and meeting rooms, a fine collection of half models, an excellent restaurant and comfortable accommodation. There are excellent shops nearby including Harrods and Harvey Nicholls.
SOUTH AFRICA
The Club was founded as the Table Bay Yacht Club in 1905 and commenced operation as such in a waterside boatshed located some 50 to 60 metres northward of the foot of Loop Street. Surviving early vicissitudes, the club’s name was changed in 1914 to the Cape Yacht Club which incorporated the Alfred Rowing Club and shortly after we received the Royal Charter to become the Royal Cape Yacht Club.
URUGUAY
The Yacht Club Punta del Este, was born in 1924 and is the best Yacht Club in Uruguay in one of the most spectacular places in Latin America. The nautical club activities include regattas, club boats, a sailing school and fishing as well as a restaurant.
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
Having originally been founded in Palm Beach in 1890, the Palm Beach Yacht Club was re-chartered in 1911. It is currently the oldest established business in West Palm Beach, Florida. Initially organized for boat racing and “promoting camaraderie among yachtsmen on the Intracoastal Waterway,” the Club has evolved over the years to become the most active private club in the Palm Beach area.

Founded in 1892, Seattle Yacht Club is housed in its elegant Mainstation on Portage Bay. The Club is one of the premier yachting
organizations in the world. Its Clubhouse and moorings, 10 Outstations, services, and social activities are second to none, and its
financial position is strong.
SYC is one of Washington State's oldest and most enduring institutions and in 2010, the National Register of Historical Places
listed the SYC Mainstation as a historic resource.
